Roger Peterson has been associated with the design, building and fabrication of industrial equipment for more than 35 years. Roger is an exceptional entrepreneur having managed companies including Solar Salt and Great Salt Lake Minerals and his own company, Utah Fabrication. Roger has a degree in mechanical engineering and specializes in all forms of material transfer.

From its inception Roger has worked tirelessly to make Utah Fabrication the number one steel fabrication shop in the Western United States. Some of the customers that currently frequent our services include: Savage, Roberts & Schaefer Engineering, Headwaters, Kennecott, Robinson Nevada Mining Company, McGill, Nucor Steel, BPB Gypsum, Staker Parsons, Sahara Construction, SPS, Western Zirconium and Ash Grove.

RMRR was the brainchild of Roger Peterson. It was created in 2007 as an experiment business to utilize the preexisting rail lines at the fabrication shop.

aaronAaron Peterson- General Manager Rocky Mountain Railcar and Repair  

Aaron Peterson has over 13 years of experience in the steel fabrication industry. He has a degree in Manufacturing and Welding Engineering. He has spent the last 4 years working as General Manager for RMRR.

He has attended Carman Training in Kansas from the BNSF School. He has been integral in obtaining RMRR’s M1003 certification. He grown their customer base and improved safety considerably. Under his management, RMRR has grown 400% in five years.  He was actively involved in securing financing to building additional rail and a permanent building to complete rail repair. As General Manage Aaron oversees industrial construction and installation services in the mountain west. Involved in all aspects of the business. He oversees several project managers reviewing budgets, schedules and personnel. His vast knowledge of the industry and strong management skills are indispensable the rest of the management team.


KerstinKerstin Topham – Controller

Kerstin has worked as the Controller for Utah Fabrication for 3 ½ years.  Prior to joining Utah Fabrication, Kerstin worked as a consultant for Now Advisors.  She spent 3 years traveling around the western U.S. assisting clients of all sizes with all of their accounting needs.  She spent a much of that time working for a 30M company assisting their auditors complete a 2 year audit of their 18 companies.  Prior to that, Kerstin spent 5 years working as the operations manager for a telecom company.  While with Utah Fabrication, Kerstin has been actively involved in implementing new systems and procedures to increase efficiencies.  Kerstin has taken Utah Fabrication from a 6M company with no accounting system to a 12M company with 2 successful reviews completed.




rolandRoland Spiegelhoff – Quality Assurance Manager for RMRR

Roland has worked full time for RMRR for 3 years. While attending BYU earning his degree in Manufacturing Engineering , Roland worked part-time for Utah Fabrication in the field. He has extensive knowledge in advanced engineering materials and composites. In the past 3 years that he has been with RMRR, he has implemented a new billing system, has managed our inventory system and been instrumental in obtaining our M1003certification and is currently working on our M214 application (Recondition bolsters and side frames).
